We were down in North GA a few weeks ago visiting my wife’s side of the family. Her uncle, Reginald (the pastor that married us) was talking music shop talk with me. He said that he’d found an old upright bass (in his church storage… I think?), and started plucking around on it. Wasn’t long before the G-string popped. So, he went to buy another set and found they listed for over $100. Well, rather than part with $100 he decided to search for the thickest WEED-EATER cord that he could find. He strung that up and said it had a pretty sweet tone.
